Kit Information

Grade: 6
Type: Earth Science
The centerpiece of the Landfoms kit is the use of material trays to demontrate erosion and deposition. The students do several investigations (flood, slope, ect.) based on running water over a sand/clay mixture set in a desk-sized tray. The investigations are designed so that students use the material trays as models to understand how the Grand Canyon formed. There are also investigations on how to read and construct topographic maps.
