Nancy TaylorNancy Taylor, Co-Director of the PISCES Project is the Science Coordinator at the San Diego County Office of Education. She works with all 42 school districts in the region, consulting and providing professional development on K-12 science curriculum, policy, assessment and instruction.
After graduating from San Diego State University and completing the Bilingual Credential program there, Nancy taught high school, elementary school and middle school in San Diego City Schools and the Ramona Unified School District for over 17 years.
Nancy's science education leadership career began in the mid 1980's when she worked with Dr. Paul Saltman at UCSD to implement an NSF science teacher institute for 100 San Diego County elementary teachers. Since that time, she has worked with many local, state and national science organizations to bring resources to San Diego area science teachers. Her professional experiences include; Consultant to the California Department of Education, Regional Director, NSF funded California State Systemic Initiative in Science, Elementary School Principal.
In 1997 she collaborated with Dr. Walter Oechel, Dr. Larry Woolf and several school district representatives to develop the PISCES Project.
